While resilient seated valves focus on absolute sealing for clean water, Veyron Valve’s Metal Seated Gate Valves are engineered for durability in harsher industrial environments. These valves are designed in compliance with BS 5163 Type B or DIN 3352-Part 2 (GG25/GGG50). The core design philosophy centers on the "Metal-to-Metal" interface, which provides a robust barrier against abrasive media and allows for performance in temperature ranges that would degrade synthetic elastomers.
Advanced Material Selection & Trim Logic
- Casting Integrity: The body is available in Grey Iron (GG25) for standard industrial use or Ductile Iron (GGG50) for higher pressure ratings. Each casting undergoes rigorous stress-relief processing to ensure dimensional stability under thermal cycling.
- The Seating Interface (Trim): Unlike encapsulated wedges, the wedge and body seats are fitted with high-quality Brass, Bronze, or Stainless Steel rings. These rings are pressed into the casting and then precision-machined.
- Lapping Excellence: The critical "tightness" of a metal-seated valve depends on the surface finish. Veyron Valve utilizes advanced mechanical lapping techniques to achieve a mirror-like finish on the seating rings, ensuring the metal-to-metal contact reaches the leakage rates defined by EN 12266-1 Rate B.

Distinctive Engineering Features
- Guided Wedge Geometry: The wedge is designed with integral guide rails that match the slots in the valve body. This prevents "wedge tilting" during the opening and closing cycles, reducing friction and preventing galling of the metallic seats.
- Solid Wedge Construction: We employ a Solid Taper Wedge design. This provides maximum rigidity and ensures that even if the valve is partially clogged with sediment, the mechanical force of the stem can drive the wedge to a secure seating position.
- Stuffing Box Reliability: For our rising stem versions, the stuffing box is packed with high-density graphite or PTFE packing. The adjustable gland follower allows for field maintenance to prevent stem leakage without removing the valve from the pipeline.
