Mechanical Integrity: The Hinge and Arm Assembly
The superiority of a swing check valve lies in its internal geometry. At Veyron Valve, we focus on the mechanical synergy between the disc, the arm, and the hinge pin.
- Unobstructed Full-Bore Flow: Our valve body is designed with an expanded internal cavity. When in the fully open position, the disc swings completely clear of the flow path. This "Full-Bore" architecture ensures that the valve’s flow capacity matches that of the pipe itself, eliminating the turbulence and pressure drops associated with more restrictive designs.
- Self-Aligning Disc Logic: The disc is attached to the hinge arm via a flexible linkage. This allows the disc to "tilt" slightly as it approaches the seat, ensuring a uniform 360-degree contact. Whether you utilize a metal-to-metal seat for industrial hot water or a resilient EPDM-faced disc for drip-tight potable water service, this self-aligning feature compensates for minor wear over time.
- Anti-Rotation Hinge Pins: We utilize high-tensile Stainless Steel (SS410/SS316) for our hinge pins. These are secured with external plugs, preventing the pin from "walking" or rotating within the body—a common failure mode in lower-quality castings that leads to hinge-eye ovalization.

Built for Decades of Service: Maintenance Access
Maintenance in deep-trench or pumping station environments is inherently difficult. Veyron Valve addresses this by incorporating a bolted top-entry cover. This allows for the complete removal and inspection of the hinge arm assembly and disc without cutting the valve out of the line. The cover is also equipped with a tapped boss, allowing for the installation of a By-pass valve or a Back-flow lever (optional) to manually prime the pump or drain the line.
Corrosion Defense
To withstand the aggressive soil conditions and damp environments of valve pits, every casting is coated with Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) to a minimum thickness of 250 microns. This dielectric barrier prevents tuberculation and ensures that the internal hinge mechanism remains free-moving even after years of inactivity.
